What we do

Three things: monthly walks with kids, dad-only workshops, and community events with local partners. The walks are the heart of it.

How a stroll works

We pick a park and a weekend morning, usually Saturday, sometimes Sunday, starting around 9 to 11. Show up any time in the first half hour. There is coffee and donuts when a sponsor is on board, which is most months.

Once a decent group has gathered, we walk. It is a kid-pace loop, typically thirty to sixty minutes, with stops for playgrounds, snack breaks, and the occasional meltdown. Nobody is timing anything.

After the loop most dads hang around a while. That is where the friendships happen. Leave whenever nap time says so.

Strollers optional

The name gets asked about constantly, so here it is: you do not need a stroller. Older kids come on bikes and scooters. Babies come in carriers. Toddlers come on shoulders. A wagon full of three kids has been seen more than once.

What matters is the showing up part. The club works because dads can count on it being there every month, whatever stage their kids are in.

Where we meet

Parks around Sioux Falls, rotating so nobody always has the long drive. Recent walks have started at Rotary Park, Spencer Park, and Legacy Park, and we have walked downtown with Downtown Sioux Falls. The exact meeting spot is on each event page, with a map link.

Winter does not cancel the club. Cold months move indoors or shift to workshops and dad-only nights.

First time?

Look for the group with the most strollers and the box of donuts. Say hi to whoever is closest. Everyone there was new once, and the founder still walks most months.

RSVP on the event page so we know how much coffee to bring and can email you if the weather moves things. It also gets you a calendar reminder. There is no membership, no fee, and nothing to sign.

Beyond the walks

Dad-only workshops
Practical skills and mental health, in rooms where it is easier to ask the question. Past examples: a hair-braiding and styling workshop taught by stylists from Atoley Salon, and a therapist-led conversation about fatherhood and mental health.
Community events
Cleanup walks, diaper and toy drives, and family days with local partners. These are where the club gives back to the city that gives us the parks.
Partners
Event partners have included AARP South Dakota, GreatLIFE, Little Social Soft Play Rentals, Commondad, South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks, and Downtown Sioux Falls. Flyboy Donuts and The Human Bean keep the walks fed.
